Kristaps is a founder and CEO of MedTech startup Vigo Health that has developed the most advanced at-home therapy software for stroke survivors. In 2021 Vigo Health received the Latvian Investment of the Year award and in March it received the 2021 Latvian Medical Innovation of the Year award. Vigo Health is the first startup in the Baltics to be admitted to the National Health Systems’ reimbursement program. For his work with stroke survivors Kristaps has received the European Institute of Technology Change award.

Prior to starting his company Kristaps studied in the leading business schools and health economics schools in Europe (Copenhagen Business School, Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management in Rotterdam) and spent 2 years researching stroke care organisation at Copenhagen University Hospital and Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital in Riga, where he focused on stroke care pathway optimization. Outside Vigo Health, Kristaps is the director of the Latvian Digital Health Cluster where he furthers the meaningful health data use, innovation adoption and patient-centric and economically effective healthcare. In his free time he reads books, goes skiing and hiking and occasionally belts out to showtunes.
